Academic Advising consists of advisor-directed activities that help all students plan, monitor, and manage learning. Students meet with advisors a minimum of twice a year to review academic progress and to plan yearly academic course work. Students needing additional assistance are guided by academic advisors to seek out tutoring or other programs of assistance. Periodic standardized testing is administered and the results are explained to students as a guide toward future planning.

Each student is assigned an Academic Advisor who is available to help the student in her academic endeavors.

The College & Career Advising Program consists of:

Maintaining a library of college and university resources, along with computers for the purpose of searching college websites and completing applications,
Help administer standardized tests, provide information for college entrance tests, and advise students after they receive scores,
Supply students with information about various types of financial aid and procedures to apply for aid,
Provide information about and encourage students to apply for college scholarships,
Administer college scholarship examinations, if necessary
Organize the yearly College Fair
Schedule college talks with college representatives
Organize small group meetings during freshman year to address career interest and college preparedness
Set up appointments with students, starting their sophomore year, to discuss all matters pertaining to college entrance
Career information (available in the College Career Center and on Naviance)
Career Exploration guest speakers
Guidance to assist each young woman as she discovers her capabilities, limitations, and interests.
Guidance towards career options that match her interests

General Information

Progress Reports

Parents/Guardians of students receiving progress reports will be notified by their teacher(s) by email correspondence. Parents/Guardians are reminded by a phone/email automated message, to check student progress reports on the Parent Portal.

Report Cards

Report Cards are emailed to the student’s home at the end of each quarter. There are no signatures required to confirm parents/guardians have received report cards. Parents/Guardians may request a duplicate report card by the calling the school office. Parents/Guardians will receive phone and email notification the week report cards are mailed.

NAVIANCE FAMILY CONNECTION

The Naviance Family Connection is a web-based planning and advising system that will help you research careers, colleges/universities, and majors. Naviance keeps track of test scores, activities, and awards and facilitates the college application process to assure all requirements are met. Please visit the Student Portal located at the top left of the homepage for a link to Naviance.
