绘画1 is a studio course designed to familiarize the student with a variety of drawing media; including graphite, 孔特, 和木炭, 视觉词汇, 和技术. The student is introduced to periods of art, styles 和技术 as they have developed throughout history and is expected to analyze and respond to these works of arts. The student will be able to apply objective criteria to the creation of her own art during class critiques and display. 学生 will be evaluated through projects, quizzes, and tests. The students will complete a semester portfolio.

 

Drawing and Painting 2 is a studio course designed to familiarize the student with a 视觉词汇, 媒介包括粉彩, watercolor and acrylic and variety of techniques. Art 2 is a studio course designed to introduce the student to a variety of techniques, visual vocabularies and media used in drawing, 版画, basic design and painting. 学生 are introduced to periods of art 和技术 developed throughout history, and are expected to analyze and respond to these works of arts. 雕塑1 is a studio course which introduces the student to a variety of hands on experiences and familiarizes the student with a variety of three dimensional art media, 视觉词汇 和技术. The student is introduced to sculptural styles during periods of art as they developed throughout history. The student is expected to analyze and respond to works of arts by sculpture masters; to demonstrate techniques of masters in her own sculpture; and to apply objective criteria to the creation of her own art during class critiques. 学生 will be evaluated through projects, quizzes, and tests. The students will complete a semester portfolio.

Sculpture 2 is a studio course which introduces the student to a variety of hands on experiences and familiarizes the student with a variety of three dimensional art media, 视觉词汇 和技术. The student is introduced to sculptural styles during periods of art as they developed throughout history. The student is expected to analyze and respond to works of arts by sculpture masters; to demonstrate techniques of masters in her own sculpture; and to apply objective criteria to the creation of her own art during class critiques. 学生 will be evaluated through projects, quizzes, and tests. The student will complete a semester portfolio.

AP Studio Art is designed for the student who is seriously interested in the practical experience of art or considering a future in the field. AP Studio Drawing is not based on a written exam; instead, it is based on the development of ideas in a sketchbook and the completed Quality, 宽度, and concentration section (24 works total) during the year and the submission of the portfolio for evaluation at the end of the year. This is a College equivalent studio course, which expects high quality standards, 调查, 自我——-动机, 自我——-纪律, and the development of work in and outside the classroom. This course has been developed to accommodate the student who has expressed an interest in completing the AP Drawing Portfolio Exam. This course enables student to develop mastery in concepts, 作文, and execution of drawing skills. This is a rigorous, college-­‐‑level experience. 学生 are required to complete all summer assignments, which will be collected on the first day of class in the Fall. 年内, after school attendance at the Studio Seminar on Mondays or Thursdays, 从下午两点半到四点.m. is highly recommended for further development of the 宽度 Component. Each student must submit the “AP Exam” Portfolio. In lieu of a class materials fee, at the beginning of the school year students will be given a list of required art supplies and materials to purchase, which will cost approximately $200. 学生 who wish to transfer from the course after the first two weeks of the semester must finish out the semester and wait to transfer at the beginning of second semester
